Hello You. Meet Virb:Virb se renueva como agregador social comparable a FriendFeed

He estado probando Virb y me ha gustado,por su diseño,por su comunidad,...
Virb,es una red social que combina algunas de las opciones de personalización vistas en MySpace (bastante menos hortera me ha parcecido) y que acaba de lanzar una versión completamente nueva de sus servicios
Acabo de leer en un  tweet suyo  que su tráfico ha aumentado en el 500% por ciento desde su relanzamiento aunque reconocen  que tiene todavía algunas cuestiones pendientes de ajuste.

En relación con la reintroducción Virb, proveedor del alojamiento MediaTemple ha anunciado que  ha creado una nueva empresa denominada plataforma (mt) Ventures, Virb que adquirió el pasado verano y también ha adquirido e invertido en varios otros proyectos.
En lugar de tratar de sustituir a los actores dominantes en el espacio de las red social , el equipo Virb reconoce que la mayoría de las personas ya han establecido una presencia en línea en otras redes sociales como MySpace y Facebook
Virb originalmente fué lanzado en el 2007 hoy en día anda alrededor de los 250.000 usuarios, incluyendo a muchos músicos que utilizan el sitio para compartir su música y encontrar aficionados.
Pero sus desarrolladores dicen que no estaban muy dispuestos a seguir el ritmo de crecimiento del sitio, ni tampoco adaptarse con suficiente rapidez para promover las nuevas oleadas de usuarios.
Así, en lugar de tratar de modificar el código que había creado, el equipo de Virb decidió comenzar de nuevo, y han pasado los últimos 18 meses en la reconstrucción de su red social ,en hacer de ella algo mucho más sólido que su anterior encarnación.


Explican que Virb tratará de ayudar a llenar el vacío dejado por estas otras redes, y se entiende como la mejora - no como un sustituto - a las redes a ya los usuarios podemos ya pertenecer.


Para reflejar esto, el sitio además es un agregador social comparable a FriendFeed.
Los usuarios pueden importar fotos de Flickr, las historias de su lector de RSS, y otros contenidos.

Segun su tweet y por lo que he visto en su páfina muy pronto ofrecerá soporte para  todos estos sitios.

  Well gang... it has been a long road to this thing called Virb 2. Stephen's children are older, Dave's beard is thicker, Simmy's hair is bigger, Rubin hasn't yet hit puberty, Josh's paychecks still haven't arrived; though Chris is still a mad haxx0r and I'm still pining over Evangeline Lilly. Some things change, some things don't.
  All kidding aside, I cannot even begin express how excited we are to hand over the keys to this shiny, new Virb. For several of us on the team, this project has consumed the past 14 months of our lives.
  We were onto a good thing with the original Virb in early 2007; but due to the small size of our team and lack of resources (read: money/manpower) and experience we didn't adapt fast enough to the growth and trends in the community. We sorta-kinda missed the mark. There, I said it.
  The new Virb is NOT a redesign, It is a complete re-envisioning of the community, its features and its future. The team and I knew that the only way to rebuild Virb into a community we’d be excited to use, was to tear the damn place down and start from scratch.
  So here we are. Nearly two years later. We have a vision on where we want to take the community from this point on. This new Virb is only the foundation that we will build upon. The Virb future is going to be an exciting one. We will do our part, you do yours. Together we'll rekindle the Virb revolution and take this community to new places.
  In closing, I'm giddy like a schoolgirl to finally announce our adoption into the (mt) Media Temple family of companies. We could not have found a better fit. The acquisition and investment from (mt) Ventures secures solid operating capital, tech infrastructure and a partnership with one of the coolest companies on the intarweb. The deal was inked all the way back in June, but we wanted to keep it quiet until the new Virb went live.

TwitPic, es una aplicación muy recomendable para Twitter que me ha gustado mucho. Se trata de una herramienta que te permite alojar imágenes, las cuales se irán publicando en tu cuenta de twitter.

Para utilizarla, sólo debes entrar con tu nombre de usuario y contraseña en Twitter.

Las fotos no sólo puedes enviarlas desde tu computadora sino desde tu teléfono móvil, a una dirección de correo que te crean desde el mismo sitio.

Por cada imagen que subamos, apareceré un link hacia la foto en nuestra cuenta de Twitter. Además de ser una herramienta, también se la considera una red social con fotografías 2.0. Muy interesante, ¿no?
